It is such a beautiful day. I can not believe Thanksgiving is this week. The weather here has been much warmer than it should be. I am getting ready to go to a tea party this afternoon for a friend of mine. Will post pictures later.

Louise at Kard Krazy is the host of Tag Tuesday. This week's theme is Christmas with brown, pink and burgundy. The picture I used is A Christmas Wish. I used a burgundy ribbon and pink ric rack. Also used a flower brad with a pink pearl.

I have been gone on vacation. We went to Maine and actually left our youngest there.
She will attending University of Presque Isle for a semester. It is part of a program at University of Louisville, where she usually attends. Will be posting pictures of that trip soon.
I created this tag for Tag Tuesday over at Kard Krazy. The theme was trio, so I used buttons. Hope everyone has a wonderful week. I have a lot of catching up to do.

The weeks have been flying by. This summer has been much busier than planned. Sorry that I have not kept up with Tag Tuesday. Hopefully I will be better in the next few weeks. The tag this week was just stamping with no embellishments. Louise from Kard Krazy started this a few weeks back.

It is only June and Hobby Lobby has Christmas stuff out.
I have decided to join a Christmas in July swap. This will be my first swap. I am excited and can't wait to see what everyone creates.
I can not believe I have not posted since the 4th. Time has flown by. We got our daughter off to Peru. She has a big challenge ahead of her with helping to start a bakery. Keep her in your prayers. Also been helping my friend Rose with wedding and events. We have been creating centerpieces and other floral arrangements.

All my girls are home from college. It is a joy to have them. Been busy helping my daughter get ready for Peru. She will be there all summer helping a small town start a bakery. We had a fundraiser tea party this week for her. Created these tags for our guests. There is a thank you note on the back of them.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. I relaxed and enjoyed having my girls home.
My husband ordered Adobe Photoshop extended version for me. I can't wait to play with the program.
I am excited, I won a bid on ebay for 800 vintage white buttons. I am anxious to create something with these.
I created a tag for Tag Tuesday. I think I will give this one to my daughter. She loves to sew.

My girlfriend, Debi just sent me this picture. We went to a wonderful tearoom in Florence called Yesterday's Tearoom and Cafe. It was her first time to tea. It was a wonderful afternoon.
Today I am going to help another friend, Rose with a wedding. She is teaching me how to do floral bouquets for the wedding party. This has been fun and I can't wait to teach my girls. Later today my daughter, Chelsey and I will be helping at the Dinsmore Homestead. They are having a Derby party. Will post pictures later.

It is a lot cooler here this morning than it has been the last few days. We have morning doves that have been hanging out the front porch. Also while my daughter was doing her homework on the front porch, she watched a bird lay an egg. She was quite fascinated.
Our plants and flowers are coming in nicely. We just planted several flowers and some herbs. Also planted a rhubarb plant for the first time. Anxious to see how that turns out. My family loves strawberry rhubarb pie. Here is a recipe that I love to use. You can make your own crust or purchase one ready made.
1 c. white sugar
2 tbsp. tapioca
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
3 c. rhubarb, cut into 1/2" pieces ( I put my rhubarb in the food processor)
2 c. sliced fresh strawberries
1 tbsp. butter
Pastry for double crust pie
Meanwhile, prepare and roll out pastry. Line a 9 inch pie plate with half of the pastry. Trim pastry to edge of pie plate. Pour fruit mixture into pie plate. Dot with butter, place pastry on top of filling. Cut slits in top to allow steam to escape seal and flute edge. Rub a little butter on crust or use a spray butter. Sprinkle 1 tbsp. brown sugar on crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

I gave my daughter a tea party a few weeks ago at her college campus . It was a fundraiser for her trip to Peru this summer. She is going there for the summer to start a bakery and work with the locals to incorporate their family recipes. The proceeds from the bakery will benefit their soup kitchen. I am working on another tea party here at home for our neighbors and friends to support her trip.
